Written in English by David Viveros.

Most of my life I am thinking about the future because it is where I am going and it is what worries me the most, however I did not stop to think a little about my past, and how I have changed with the passage of time and experiences that I have had. That is why today I am going to think about what were the decisions that brought me to this moment.

I perfectly remember that a year ago I was trying to win a scholarship that would give me the opportunity to learn more about leadership and my personality. It was important to me because it would strengthen my values, abilities and most importantly, help me know who I am and my purpose at that stage of my life. At that time, I felt lost without knowing what I really wanted to study at university, what plans I wanted for my future, and what would really make me happy. That is why I decided to try to get out of my comfort zone and risk any challenge that life presented me. I remember the emotions I had when I got the news that I was accepted to the NPH Seattle Institute. It was the most exciting day of my life. I cannot explain in detail, but it was great.

Today is one year since that day and my heart is grateful to every person I have met throughout this incredible adventure. I can say that I have improved my self-confidence because I have made good decisions like studying graphic design, since it is what I am passionate about and what makes me happy. I have also worked a lot on my values as a person such as responsibility, service, and charity. The leadership in me has made me see life in a different way, and that I should not fear the unknown because that is what makes me who I am. I know that I am not perfect and that I have many weaknesses in which I need to improve, but thanks to who I was I know who I want to be.

All this has taught me that risks are not always negative, and that in reality they are opportunities in which you can get to know yourself, and of which you realize what you really are capable of. It is incredible how much you can achieve when you believe in yourself and in the people who inspire you to be better every day.

Today I want to be that person who inspires you to never give up, to fight for your goals, your objectives, and everything you want to achieve in your life because although life is short, it is full for the person who lives it knowing who he is, who he was and who he will be.
